Technorati Improvements

In the past, it was taking Technorati quite a while to update their databases with new posts, link tracking. It was taking anywhere from a few hours to a few days and sometimes links weren’t being tracked at all.

I’ve noticed in recent weeks though, that Technorati is updating within minutes after the ping goes out.

This is not just a major improvement for the company and their service, but a huge plus for the blogosphere as a whole. With the underlying benefit of the blogosphere being all about the conversations and letting others know you have an opinion, instant notification of who’s talking about who (via your watchlists, you do have those don’t you?), you can respond more promptly to what’s being said.

This reminds me: I need to install that tagging plugin.
