Weblogs Inc. Swipes Bloglogic Blogger
Ok, ok… maybe borrows would be a better word. Hmm. On second (or third) thought, ahh nevermind
I’d like to congratulate Tobias Buckell, the guy who writes over at Healthacker on his new gig at BloggingOhio.com, one of what could very well be the beginning of a series of regional blogs published by Weblogs Inc.
Jason Calacanis talks briefly about the new site here.
I really think this local or regional blog thing could be a big hit soon. The blogosphere is growing at such an alarming rate and blogs are popular enough these days that there should be no problem getting enough local readers to kick off such a venture. Also, think about all the people who move away from their city who’d love to read up on home town news as it happens. Travelers? Yup, they’ll want to know what’s hot in an area before they travel there.
Local blogs will also serve advertisers and marketers online more effeciently than major ad outlets that rely on geotargeting to push ads to local customers. An ad for a local Ohio based business will not only be exposed to local customers, but people from there or travelling there as well.
There’s a ton of other positives but you get the picture.
Now before you ask how I feel about a guy who for my blogs writing for someone else, I’ll say this. I hire all my bloggers as part timers and independant contractors. They are in business for themselves as freelance writers and I’m tickled pink that I can be a part of helping them become professional bloggers.
Congrats Tobias! ![]()
