Big Lies about Blogging
Seth Godin points us to a cool meme that’s started over at Marketing Profs called “What’s the Biggest Lie About Blogging?” Jeremy Wright, as well as several other top bloggers have weighed in, all adding their favorite misconceptions about blogging.
Most are hilarious, but of course it’s because all great humor is based on truth (or something like that). Now, I’d like to add a couple of my own:
1. Blogs are just regular web sites with RSS feeds and Commenting.
2. Write 2-5 ‘articles’ a week and your blog will get traffic.
3. Traffic and Pageviews are more important than Readership for monetizing your blog.
4. It’s still a blog, even if you turn off comments cause you don’t want to go through the trouble of conversing with your readers.
5. I can run a blog network singlehandedly, and still have time to shower, eat and sleep.
