Ok, I’ve been outta touch with the happenings in the blogosphere over the past few months. Actually, that’s not true: I’ve been purposefully avoiding addressing any ‘issues’ related to blogging because it’s just too expensive when crybabies retaliate and sue, shut down hosting accounts, whatever…
But this last major announcement makes my blood boil
This post by Darren Rowse of Problogger.net (and I love the guy and his blog) brought it to my attention.
Jason Calacanis, now an AOL employee and former owner of Weblogs Inc. is heading up the repurposing/relaunch of Netscape.com - as a blatent ripoff of the Digg.com model with a few revisions here and there to make it appear different.

Ok, a few of you may remember a site I was working on around this time last year. It was a mild adult site that featured mostly celebrity aahhh… slipups
Well, the biggest problem I had with that site was that at the time, I couldn’t find a way to monetize the 3500+ unique visitors per day it was getting from the search engines. Well, I’ve found a way and I’m re-opening the site before the end of June ‘06.
Prediction: by Aug 1st, ‘06, bloglogic will be adding another dedicated server to it’s arsenal. Bout time dontchya think?

After a solid week of spammers throttling the Gadgetizer.com comment forms to the point where the server was slowing down, I went and set up a script to automatically close commenting on posts more than 10 days old. Both Tiago and I were worn out logging in each day and having to delete dozens of spam comments that somehow slipped past the word filters. Something had to be done.
It sucks because a lot of the older posts were still getting occasional comments from people coming in through search engines, but now at least we only have to deal with deleting a handful of spam on 30-40 posts rather than 600.
*Sigh* I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this.

I’ll be taking a couple of weeks off to take care of a few things. I guess you could call it a vacation, but I’d like to think of it as a break from the stresses that have been building up over the past few months.
If anyone needs to contact me for something important, please use the contact forms on one of the bloglogic sites to send me an email. I’ll check in every few days. Other than that, I’ll be out of touch.
See you all when I’m more relaxed and stress free
