Access Denied

Edit: As you can see, I have internet access again.

My home internet access has not been working since early this morning and I’m at a friends house posting this from her computer.

Danm! I knew I should have grabbed a cheap laptop at BestBuy when they were on sale last week. I would have been able to go somewhere with a working wifi connection and blogged from there.

I’ll be back writing when my connection is back.

An Honest Post

I’ve been struggling with this for two days, wondering if I should post about it or just leave it be. So here we go…

I’m diabetic.

For months now, my vision has been progressively deteriorating, I’ve been having dizzy spells, drinking a LOT of water, numbness in my feet, etc. Wednesday I got the test results back from the doctor and he confirmed it. It’s in the early stages right now and he assures me it can be controlled with a healthy diet, exercise and medication, which is comforting.

My Mother has it so it runs in the family, and I’m at that age where I have to start thinking about such things (38), but that stuff isn’t real until it actually happens to you.

Anyway, I have to talk with some people and read up a lot more about the condition. It’s common and lots of literature is readily available - but I still feel like a ton of bricks has fallen on me; bricks I’ll remove one by one until I get used to the fact that I’ll have this condition for the rest of my life.

This confusion is also affecting other people, like family, friends and a few others. I’ve also made a few enemies lately who really shouldn’t be.

What else could possibly happen?

Getting Things Accomplished

Believe it or not, I did a grand total of 38 blog posts today (including this one). On top of that, I watched 2 of my favorite TV shows, did lots of blogging maintenance - stats analysis, tweaking, research, tons of reading, my moderator duties on a busy IM forum, etc. - and it’s still only 9:45pm.

Funny thing is, I don’t even feel like it’s been a rough day!

Now all I have to do is figure out how to keep up at least 2/3 of that pace. Consistency has never been my strong point.

Blogging Events To Raise Funds

I’ve been thinking of doing a blogging event to raise some badly needed funds, because without cash I simply won’t have the time to blog anymore. I’ll have to get a job.

Any ideas on what type of event I should do?

Or should I just say “To hell with it” and go back to doing drywall.

Got one idea that might fly, but it’s a long shot.

Bloglogic Coming Back Online - Slowly

Bloglogic is coming back online, slowly.

It’s been a hard decision after what happened last year and there will be a lot of changes to what I was (trying) doing back then. Most notably, there will be a lot less sites.

I simply don’t have the time or inclination to do 15-20 sites, nor do I have the support from others to go launching multiple blogs like a popcorn machine like the other networks are doing. With that said…

The cornerstone site right now is Gadgetizer.com. The second, a site I’m doing on Internet Marketing is MeatballMarketing.com.

I have 3 other sites in development right now, but they won’t really go live until they have some significant content, like about 50 posts each. Then they’ll be added to the network.

So if you’re looking for rapid deployment of blogs or for Bloglogic to become a major player in the blog network arena, that won’t be happening any time soon. I’ve made the decision to happily do from 4-8 sites and do them well for now.
