In a press release posted on the Performancing.com site, we learn that the trouble-plagued startup has been acquired by SplashPress Media, the company who owns other notable sites like the Blog Herald.
In the recent past, Performancing has had it’s share of troubles, with failed attempts at selling the site, the CEO leaving, the other principal members threatening to bail, etc.
More news on this as the story develops throughout the blogosphere.
Update 1: Aaron has an exclusive interview with blog broker, David Krug, up at Technosailor. (Thanks Darren)
Update 2: More on the sale of Performancing from the Blog Herald, 901am and Shoemoney.

After getting my feet wet in the blogging arena again, I think it may be time to brush away the mothballs here at Bloglogic and get back to the root of things again. I’ve set myself a 3 month goal for the site that shouldn’t be too hard to meet. Wish me luck!

Since restarting Bloglogic.net as a blogging news site, we haven’t had much luck in finding someone to write for it on a consistent basis. As you can see, the site has gone stale. But in an effort to liven things up around here, we’re looking for a few contributors who can do a few posts a week on the topics of blogging and web 2.0. Interesterd bloggers should apply at the main company site using the contact form there.
Or see this post for more details.

Like a guy on the rebound from losing his girlfriend, Andrew Baron has already chosen a new anchor for the now infamous Rocketboom news vlogging show. It can’t be 100% confirmed yet, but the Huffington Post is reporting that former MTV Europe VJ Joanna Colan will take the anchor chair vacated by Amanda Congdon earlier this week. “Sources familiar with the hire say Colan, formerly the music/DJ curator at Table 50, will begin on Monday, July 10th, when Rocketboom is scheduled to go live again…” Read more »

From Dave Winer who’s attending Gnomedex right now:
I’m sitting next to John Furrier at Gnomedex and he says he heard from Bob Wyman last night that PubSub has shut down and their engineers have found jobs at other companies.

Move over Blogads, Chitika and Google Adsense, there’s a new ad network called Performancing Partners coming soon! Remember yesterday when I gave my shortlist of blog related companies that deserve a round of seed funding? Here’s why Performancing is on that list: Read more »

Valleywag says that 19 year old journalism student, Trent Lapinski, has been poking around the dank and moldy corners of how social networking giant MySpace got started, and he’s about to publish his findings for the world to see. For such a young and aspiring journalist, this could very well be the story of a lifetime. He can kiss a future job interview at NewsCorp goodbye though. We’ll definitely be keeping our eye on this as it develops. Read more »

There are blogs that break news, contribute to the rise and fall of politicians and blogs that document what’s happening with the family cat, but the News 21 approach to blogging is one of the most important initiatives I’ve seen in a long time. In terms of Journalism education it’s on the cutting edge. In terms of the importance of the news it’s monumental. Read more »
